We are the Junior League of Athens

Above all else, our goal is to promote and perpetuate social change in the Athens area communities that will benefit most from it. By empowering women and providing valuable leadership training, we are giving local women the tools to get involved, put their talents to work, and have a positive impact in the communities of the Athens area.

Strength in Numbers

As one of hundreds of Junior League chapters across the world, we are a member of the Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc. (AJLI). Originally chartered as the Junior Assembly of Athens, Georgia, in 1935, the Junior League of Athens, established in 1980, plays an integral part in the development, improvement, and support of the communities around Athens.

Our Local Impact

At the beginning of the 2021-2022 League year, the Junior League of Athens voted to change its Signature Focus to women’s reproductive health and issues.
